Clipper care: oiling, cleaning and storage

Use the exact model's manual as the maintenance checklist. Different machines and blade systems can need different care. Keep the official instructions with model and blade references.

Before clipping

Inspect the casing, fitted parts, power components and blades. Lay out the specified oil and cleaning brush. Check air intakes as directed; do not run equipment with protective parts removed.

During work

Follow oiling and cleaning instructions and check blade warmth. Keep supplies within reach without creating obstacles. Isolate power before tasks for which the manual requires it. Do not repeatedly restart a machine that cuts out.

Afterwards

Clear hair and clean as directed. Store equipment dry, with the protection its maker specifies. Record unusual behaviour and arrange servicing before the next session.

Maintain an inventory of the machine, blade sets, approved oil, brush and service contact. Label blade sets to avoid mixing parts. Check the contents again before the next session.

Buying clipper oil

Use the oil specified by your clipper maker; check the manual before substituting another lubricant. Shopping results can contain incompatible products.
