Electrical safety when clipping
Stable spaces can be dusty, busy and close to water. Check equipment and supply suitability before planning mains clipping. Consult a competent person if you are unsure about the installation.
Inspect each time
Check the plug, lead, connectors and casing. Remove damaged equipment from use. Tape over a damaged cable is not an adequate repair. Repairs need a competent person.
Plan the space
Keep cables away from hooves, water and traffic. Ensure handlers can move without crossing trailing leads. Know how to disconnect power promptly. Consider whether a trip would also remove lighting.
RCD protection
An RCD adds protection but does not detect every hazard. Follow test instructions and never bypass it. Stop and investigate a trip before continuing.
Cleaning and charging
Switch off and unplug before cleaning or adjustments as directed. Battery chargers also need suitable conditions and intact equipment. Keep the manual available and ask a service agent about uncertainty.
